At the end of the day, let go of it all. I so often toss and turn in bed mulling over the day’s mishaps, failures and tasks uncompleted. And for what? By the time I go to bed there’s usually nothing I can do to change all that. It’s just another place to expend energy when it would be better to get some sleep.
If you find you do the same there are some things you can do.
Go through each thing that’s racing in your head and tell yourself to forget it. Let it go and release your mental tie to it.
Or you can try writing it down on a piece of paper as a list. Nothing more than the thing itself. Then scrumple it up and throw it in the bin.
If you keep a journal, this is the ideal place to make a mental brain dump.
The idea is that we carry these things with us. Mentally and physically. We can manifest psychological pain and tension in the body. At the end of the day the best thing you can do for yourself is to get a good night’s rest.
